John Keells Leisure Inbound Sector conducts its 4th Professional Chauffeur Guide Training Program, introducing female chauffeur guides for the first time

Establishing trends in the market, John Keells Leisure Inbound Sector has always been a trailblazer through unique projects. This professional chauffeur guide training program has been one of such initiatives where the main objective is to introduce well educated chauffeur guides to the industry.

This year, the program commenced on 04th of May and was carried out until 08th September covering 50+ learning hours. The team was educated on the latest industry trends and other information about the tourism industry in local as well as in the global contexts, through well qualified lecturers. The company had also arranged a one-day lecture session at the university of Sabaragamuwa Sri Lanka to add value to the program, following which certificates were awarded for the trainees, for their participation in the one- day lecture session. In addition to the in-class assignments, the company was focused in providing hands-on experience through a Colombo city tour, and two familiarization tours, where one was to the Cultural Triangle and the other to Down South and Deep-Down South areas of the island.

Upon successful completion of the course, 16 trainees were awarded with certificates on 29th September 2024. We treat this batch as extra special since the company has trained and introduced 3 female chauffeur guides to the industry for the first time in history! And most importantly, one of those female trainees is fluent in Italian language. These trainees are now ready to embark their career in the tourism industry and explore the island together with the clients from all around the world!
