Selyn is the only World Fair trade certified brand in Sri Lanka and also Vegan and PETA approved. It is also well known worldwide as they export to several European countries including Germany, France, Denmark, etc. Selyn already works with UK fashion schools to create impact through design.
From humble beginnings in a village in Kurunegala to nurturing over 1000 artisans across Sri Lanka, Selyn has been empowering women of rural communities for 30 long years. Today, their ethical lifestyle brand is Sri Lanka's only Fair-Trade handloom company and operates as one of the country's largest social enterprises

Thotupala Residence

Thotupala Residence, Kandy offers a fabulous gastronomic experience to any traveller seeking the taste of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.

Located 10 minutes away from Cinnamon Citadel, Kandy, a visit to Thotupala Residence is a convenient excursion to indulge in while enjoying the spleandour of the culture filled Kandyan community. The experience intends to demonstrate the art of preparing traditional meals from scraping the coconut and extracting the milk, to pounding a sambol, to cooking with firewood using ancient tools and methods along with the host and her team in a traditional village.

The activity is enriched by the economic benefit extended to the village folk. Visitors interacting with the villagers will be travelling from one location to the other in tuk tuks to collect spices and vegetables grown in the local gardens and fish to prepare meals in local style while they learn the Sinahala names of various seasonal vegetables that adds to the joy of this experience.
