To be in line with the group Gender policy we are striking to achieve gender parity through Empowerment & Inclusion – which enables both genders to equally contribute towards decision making of a company, and Equal opportunity - by providing them with the equal resources, opportunities and rewards and recognition and thereby creating a gender sensitive work culture.

Goal to increase female participation in the workforce to 50 per cent by 2030. As at 31 March 2022, this stood at 45 per cent. JKH is the first company in Sri Lanka to introduce the equal paternity leave and maternity leave of 100 days. JKH entered into an agreement to provide all female employees of the John Keells Group with sanitary napkins, free of charge.

The group has also introduced an agile working policy where they have normalized flexible working hours which gives working parents an upper hand and staff who are engaged in academics and keen on achieving something more.- New Initiative of equaling maternity & paternity leave to a 100-day leave giving importance and recognition to both parent's role’s during early childcare. The above is also seen as a way of eliminating the discrimination on women due to the benefit of maternity leave.
