Walkers Tours Strengthens Recycling Efforts with Plasticcycle Bin Placement at BIA

This initiative is part of our ongoing partnership with Plasticcycle, a pioneer in turning plastic waste into useful products. Previously we supported placing 48 recycling bins at selected expressway entrance counters, helping thousands of commuters adopt responsible disposal habits. In the last financial year alone, our sponsored bins collected 172kg of plastic waste, contributing directly to Sri Lanka’s circular economy.

The new units at BIA are part of Plasticcycle’s island-wide network of over 250 recycling bins, diverting plastics into upcycling streams that produce everything from durable cleaning tools to monofilaments for fabric production. Extending this effort to BIA reflects our continued commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s circular economy and expanding public participation in plastic waste reduction.
