You will be welcomed with flower garlands at the arrival hall of the airport by the Walkers Tours team and escorted to the vehicle to reach your next destination.

Airport – Negombo | Travel Distance: 20 km | Approximate travel time: 30 minutes

Check-in to your accommodation and spend the evening at leisure or take a stroll along the streets of Negombo which are dotted with many local shops, restaurants and cafes.

Leave Negombo for Wilpattu which is very well known for the elusive leopard. Wilpattu is a favorite amongst wildlife enthusiast and photographers as it is less visited compared to other National parks which gives you to the opportunity to enjoy a sighting peacefully with very little disturbance.

Located close to the historical city of Anuradhapura. The dry zone jungle is thickly grown. Wilpattu Natonal Park is home for many villus, or natural lakes which dot the landscape in the Wilpattu National Park. Except for two, these lakes contain rainwater, thus are important for resident and migratory water-birds.

You will spend the next 3 days exploring the wilderness of Wilpattu and explore the local village life with a local guide.

Transfer back to the capital Colombo after 3 exciting days in the wild. Like many capital cities in developing countries Colombo is fast changing its face. almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood, yet in some parts, the old-world charm is retained. Wilpattu National Park is located in the north west of the dry zone of the island with a long coastal boundary. It is approximately 180 km north of Colombo. Wilpattu is reputed to have the highest density of leopards in the world. The park is also home to elephants, spotted deer, boars and mongooses. The jungle fowl, the national bird of Sri Lanka, and many species of owls, gulls, eagles are also found in the Park. The Park is also inhabited by mugger crocodiles, common cobras, Indian pythons and soft shelled turtles. During the rains of the northeast monsoons from December to February and the subsequent inter-monsoonal rains, the 60 lakes and tanks in the Park attract wildlife while flora and fauna thrive in the lush climate. Only a quarter of the Park is open to visitors; the rest is covered in dense forest.
