Expxloring the Sigiriy rock
Sigiriya - A mighty 600 ft high rock-fortress of a 5th century King is famous for its entrancingly beautiful frescoes which are found in a sheltered pocket of the rock. One cannot fail to marvel at the masterful execution of the sinuous forms of these women (originally 500, of which only 19 remain today). The old stairway to the top led through the mouth of a huge crouching lion, carved from the rock- today only the paws remain. Remains of the handsome royal citadel are on the summit.

Village trek and traditional catamaran ride
This is a unique jungle and village experience which is popular with most clients. Depart from the hotel to a point off the main road where you begin a scintillating walk over village paths, a tank (ancient reservoir) bund and forest. Cross a little jungle rivulet by catamaran to reach a farmers simple "wattle and daub" house. Begin the next phase of your trek, which will lead you through vegetable plots and into a scrub forest. A truly Sri Lankan experience.

Train Journey
One of the most memorable aspects of the train journey is the color green. Many of the tea plantations here are carpeted in the green of the surrounding region. The Hill Country is the perfect place for growing tea because it has a warm climate, altitude, and sloping terrain. Today, it has become virtually one big tea plantation.
