Sri Lankan budget carrier FitsAir has inaugurated direct flights linking Colombo with Ahmedabad in a partnership with Walkers Tours and Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, establishing the only non-stop air connection between the two cities.
The new service, operating three times weekly, strengthens air links between Sri Lanka and Western India, catering to both leisure visitors and business travellers seeking seamless connectivity. The collaboration with Walkers Tours, one of Sri Lanka’s most established travel and hospitality groups and the iconic Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams further elevates the significance of the launch, bringing together key players across aviation, tourism and luxury hospitality.
Recognised as one of India’s most dynamic commercial hubs and the gateway to the culturally rich state of Gujarat, Ahmedabad represents a strategically significant market spanning tourism, trade and investment.
FitsAir Executive Director Ammar Kassim described the launch as a landmark development for bilateral relations. “This milestone simplifies travel while unlocking new opportunities for tourism, trade and economic collaboration between Sri Lanka and Gujarat,” he said, adding that the route represented far more than a new flight path. “Routes transcend airports — they connect dreams, drive trade and build lasting partnerships.”
The partnership with Walkers Tours and Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams reaffirms a shared vision of positioning Sri Lanka as a premium destination for Indian travellers, particularly from Gujarat’s thriving business and leisure travel segment.
The Colombo–Ahmedabad service forms part of FitsAir’s broader network expansion strategy, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to regional connectivity through accessible and affordable travel, while also creating new avenues for cultural and economic exchange between the two destinations.
