Where the Earth Meets the Sky
Horton Plains & World’s End

Horton Plains in Sri Lanka is the coldest and windiest location in the country. It consists of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands, and aquatic ecosystems. At an altitude of 2,100 metres above sea level, Horton Plains spreads across over 3,169 hectares of the highest tableland of the island.

World’s End is located within the Horton Plains National Park. It is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 m). It is one of the most visited parts of the park and a key tourist attraction in the Nuwara Eliya District and the country at large. 1 km away from the main cliff is a smaller cliff with a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop, colloquially known as Mini World’s End.
