Island’s Edge
Point Pedro

Point Pedro is the farthest northern point of Sri Lanka, directly opposite its southern counterpart Point Dondra. The calming beaches offer a peaceful escape from the busier tourist trails in Sri Lanka. The area has visible remnants of colonial architecture, Hindu temples, and Tamil heritage that give the area a rich historical context. Visitors can enjoy long walks along the coast, visit the nearby Vallipuram Temple, and observe local fishing communities in action. While it’s not overly commercialised, its untouched beauty and historic significance make it a must-visit for those exploring northern Sri Lanka.
