Adam’s Peak, or Sri Pada, is a revered conical mountain in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, holding immense spiritual significance for multiple religions. The most popular and well-maintained ascent route begins from Dalhousie (Nallathanniya), a small village approximately 30 km from Hatton.
This path, though steep, is roughly 5 km long and features around 5,500 steps. The pilgrimage season, from December to May, sees thousands of pilgrims and tourists undertaking the challenging climb, often starting in the early hours to witness a breathtaking sunrise from the summit. The path is well-lit during this period, with numerous tea stalls offering refreshments. While physically demanding, the stunning panoramic views and the profound cultural experience make it an unforgettable journey.
