Located near the southern coast of Sri Lanka, the Bundala National Park is the fouth UNESCO Biosphere Reserve because of its vast population of wetland birds. Known as a bird watcher’s paradise, it was first made a national park in 1993 and has since continued to captivate visitors with over 200 vibrant bird species, from migratory birds to exotic aquatic species.
However, the Park is also home to several other animals including 32 species of mammals, 48 reptiles, 15 amphibian species, and 52 butterfly species. The 383 plant varieties recorded at the Park also add to its vibrant allure, making it a must visit for outdoor lovers of all sorts.
