Sri Lanka Makes a Strong Impression at BLTM 2024

The Business, Leisure, Travel, and MICE (BLTM) 2024, held in New Delhi, India, from 29 – 31 August, emerged as a premier platform for the travel and tourism industry. This exclusive three-day travel mart facilitated valuable networking opportunities for destination marketers and travel service providers, fostering productive business negotiations with the Indian travel trade.

This year, 32 local travel and tourism industry participants from Sri Lanka, including Walkers Tours, proudly represented the island nation. The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), operating under the Ministry of Tourism and Lands, organized Sri Lanka’s participation in line with its Annual Marketing Plan 2024. As the partner country of BLTM 2024, the SLCB sponsored the exhibition lanyards, featuring prominent destination branding, which were distributed to all attendees, including exhibitors, hosted buyers, and visitors.

India is a vital market for Sri Lankan tourism, contributing 18% of total arrivals with 225,641 Indian tourists from January to July 2024. At BLTM 2024, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), backed by the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi, led the largest Sri Lankan delegation, highlighting the strong bilateral relations and the significant potential for tourism growth.
