South Asian Trade Fair 2024: A Platform for SME Growth and Regional Collaboration in Colombo

The South Asian Trade Fair 2024, held from August 2-4 at the Excel World Colombo Convention Center, showcased an array of products, innovations, and opportunities from across South Asia. This event was designed to promote Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the region, recognizing their vital role in driving economic development.

As a strategic platform, the trade fair facilitated exports and imports among SAARC member states, encouraging cross-border trade and opening doors for businesses to display their products, explore new markets, and engage in discussions aimed at mutual growth. The event brought together participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, fostering regional collaboration.

The wide variety of products and services exhibited included tea, textiles and apparel, spices, fruits and vegetables, handicrafts, herbal products, cosmetics, dairy items, beverages, leather goods, gems and jewelry, eco-friendly products, rubber products, dry fruits, and offerings from the tourism and hospitality sectors.
