Situlpawwa Rock Temple, Located In The Yala National Park, In The Deep South Of Sri Lanka Is A Significant Buddhist Site Built In The Second Century Bc And Boasts A History Of Over 2200 Years. Sithulpawwa Rock Temple House Is An Intricate Temple Complex. The Caves Inside Have Been Built To Make It Suitable For The Monks To Live. In Addition To The Main Dagoba, A Number Of Small Dagobas, Chapter Houses And Ponds Are Found Inside The Situlpawwa Rock Temple. The Main Cave Temple Walls Consist Of Paintings Belonging To The Anuradhapura Period And This Is A Significant Feature As Not Many Paintings Belonging To This Period Have Been Found.
